If you've ever needed crutches, you may empathize with wheelchair users. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guarantees equal opportunity for individuals with disabilities in public accommodations, employment, transportation, state and local government services, and telecommunications.
One ADA section requires that wheelchair ramps be provided in place of steps at appropriate locations.
In this lesson you will evaluate existing wheelchair ramps to see if they comply with regulations. You'll also examine steps that may be converted to ramps.
